When we returned home from our cruise in March, we checked our Facebook accounts because internet was super expensive. A dear friend from our lives had this posting. He has graciously allowed us to use it to "pump it up" for Reed's Run 2010. Please read this blog and pass it on to your friends. I am terrible at solicitation (I lack the tact gene :-) ) . . . but I am calling YOU out. Yes, YOU!!! Hosanna! people. Thomson Reuters people. Leeds people. Mayville State people. UST people. Friends. "Friends". Relatives. ALL of you. Mark your calendar . . . Saturday, September 25. http://www.reedsrun.com/ I am currently have 207 facebook friends. With a mere 50% turnout, we can add 100+ people running/walking for this great cause . . . but I will take 50% as kind of an insult. I want the town of Marshall to be SHOCKED and AMAZED!!!!
It doesn't matter what your physical ability is or isn't . . . I used this excuse to miss this event last year. . . and let me tell you, it was a horrible excuse . . . definitely not worth the guilt burden. It doesn't matter how full your calendar is or isn't. It doesn't matter what your age is. It doesn't matter your lot in life. Your "status" in life doesn't matter. Your current geography doesn't matter (ROAD TRIP!!!) I am calling you out. I will be there and I want to see you there too. Please publicly post your commitment here. If you think you have an excuse, go back to the website, read it again, and think hard before posting your excuse. I understand that some of you do have legitimate excuses . . . but if there is anything that I can do to get you past that excuse and into this even, I will do it (send me a facebook message) . . . I have the most AWESOME friends and WE can do this. If you commit to do this (run, walk, crawl, roll, etc), then please challenge your friends/spouses/c0-workers/kids/church group/etc. to be there also. GO BIG OR GO HOME!
This is a GREAT family and a GREAT cause . . . without them knowing it and without me saying it (until now), they have taught me more about courage and service than anything/anyone else . . . because they lead by example. Now it is time for us to be an example . . . be an example to your kids, your co-workers, your friends, etc. . . DO THIS! COMMIT! ALL IN, BABY!
